Diversity and Inclusion Framework

The Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA) is committed to improving diversity and inclusion in the Apprenticeship system by:

  • Raising awareness of apprenticeship opportunities for participants from diverse communities
  • Reducing barriers to apprenticeship and trade certification; enhancing employer and individuals' supports
  • Creating partnerships for diversity and inclusion
  • Encouraging apprenticeship employers to hire individuals from diverse groups, such as:

NSAA with the Equity, Diversity, Access and Inclusion (EDAI) Advisory Committee have developed and launched the renewed EDAI Framework entitled, Building More Equitable Pathways II. The renewed Framework builds off of the foundation and strength of the first EDAI Framework: Building More Equitable Pathways. The Advisory Committee consists of 14 members including 2 Apprenticeship Board members plus 4 NSAA staff.
