FOR EXISTING APPRENTICES
Effective January 8th, 2026, you will use our AMS system to interact with NSAA, manage your apprenticeship activities, and make requests. To do so, you must first set up your Apprenticeship Management System account.
For your first-time logging in, please watch the following video: AMS Login Tutorial for Existing Apprentices
First Time Signing In as an Existing Apprentice:
Since you are already a registered apprentice, you already have an AMS account. Here are the steps to activate your account:
- Go to nsapprenticeship.ams-sga.ca (You might want to bookmark this link).
- The first page you will see asks for your username and password.
- For apprentices logging in for the first time, your username is your apprenticeship ID number. That number starts with a ‘20’ and can be found on your apprentice ID card. You will enter ‘CB’ and then the apprenticeship ID number with no spaces as your username.
- Click ‘Forgot Password’.
- A temporary password will be emailed to the email address that we have on file.
- NOTE: Please check all email addresses for the temporary password (work, personal, and junk mail folders). If an email is not received, please contact NSAA for further assistance at apprenticeship@novascotia.ca or 1-800-494-5651.
- Once back at the login screen, type in your username (same one as used above) and then the temporary password (received via email) and click SIGN IN.
- The system will prompt a permanent password upon initial sign-in. Please create a new password for your account.
- Once the new password has been created and saved, you will log in using your apprenticeship ID number (remember to put the CB in front of it) and the newly created permanent password.
- Upon initial login, please visit “My Profile” in the left menu and ensure all of your information is up to date. Please update if needed.
Now that you are logged in:
- Please watch the Apprenticeship Management System Preview Video to learn more about the system and your apprenticeship information.
- Visit the help icon (top right corner) that will assist you with AMS and/or visit these training videos to help you navigate the system: AMS Webpage
FOR EXISTING EMPLOYERS
Effective January 8th, 2026, you will use our AMS system to interact with NSAA. With this change, each employer organization must appoint one individual as its Employer Administrator. This person will manage your organization’s AMS - overseeing user access, maintaining accurate data, and helping your team navigate the new system.
For your first time logging into AMS, please watch the following video: https://youtu.be/I0JZ0SkYgKM
First Time Signing In as an Existing Employer:
- Select the person who will be your Employer Administrator. Note: this could be you!
- Advise them to create an AMS account using the steps below:
- Go to nsapprenticeship.ams-sga.ca (You might want to bookmark this link).
- Click GET STARTED and follow prompts to create your AMS account. When you create your username, we recommend using your email address.
- You will receive an email with your temporary password, and it will be sent to the email address that you used when you created your account above. Please check your junk folder for this email.
- Type in your username and temporary password received in the email, then click SIGN IN.
- The system will prompt you to create a permanent password.
- This will bring you back to the login screen – then you can login with the username you selected and your new permanent password.
- Once your Employer Administrator has completed their AMS Account set up, they will need to advise the NSAA by completing the attached form: Employer Administrator Set Up. This form will allow NSAA staff to link your administrator to your employer profile.
- Our internal team will complete your set up and notify your Employer Administrator via email once they have been linked to your employer profile.
Please note, this is a one-time setup to begin using AMS. Once your Employer Administrator account has been fully set up, your Employer Administrator can log in at any time.
Now that they are logged in:
- Please watch the Apprenticeship Management System Preview Video to learn more about the system and the information regarding your apprentices.
- Visit the help icon (top right corner) that will assist you with AMS and/or visit these training videos to help you navigate the system: AMS Webpage
Don’t have a Client ID/Account yet:
